There are so many DIY projects I’d like to tackle but can’t because they need extraordinary abilities or esoteric supplies that I simply don’t have access to, but, as it turns out, there are an incredibly huge number of projects that are just as cool and can be completed with little more than your trusty craft glue gun!

If you don’t already have a glue gun, there’s no reason not to purchase one. There is something for everyone in the pricing range. At the low end, you have your £30 glue gun, which is similar to your Ford Focus in that it is simple, dependable, and won’t break the budget.

At the top end, you have your £150+ versions, which I suppose are more akin to a Rolls Royce . A typical £20-£40 glue gun is all you actually need for most people and most projects.

If you just have a few dollars to spare, you may also get a tiny glue gun. You can get one of these for roughly £7 at your local craft shop.

Whether you’re just starting out with glue gun projects and aren’t sure if this is something you want to do, I highly recommend acquiring one of them. You’ll be surprised at what you’re capable of.

And now it’s time to get inspired! I’d like to share with you 7 incredible glue gun craft ideas that are simply astoundingly inventive!

1. Decorate a vase using hot glue.

I always thought of hot glue as something you use just to stick things together, but you can actually make really cool decorative art with the glue itself. One great example is this easy project for decorating a vase using tabs of hot glue.

You can even write with the glue. Spray paint over it and the glue looks like it is just part of the vase.

2. Make a Decorative Sign

This project will show you how to use hot glue to write on a piece of wood and create a charming little ornamental sign for your house. You may write whatever you want and even add designs if you’re feeling very creative!

3. Make coasters the easy way.

This project will show you how to build your very own coasters, whether you’re planning a dinner party and want to do something special, or you simply want something for everyday life! They are both attractive and utilitarian, and they have a lovely rustic feel about them.

All you need is some string and hot glue. You thread the string around, glueing it as you go, and ta da! You have coasters that you may use or give as gifts!

4. Create an orb out of driftwood.

Check out this project to make an orb out of driftwood if you want to learn how to do something completely artful and fantastic using hot glue. Looking at it, you’d think putting this thing together would have been a nightmare. The final creation appears to defy gravity.

But it’s actually a lot easier than you think. The artist simply inflated a beach ball and began placing pieces down on it, glueing them together to form a lattice as she went.

She simply deflated the ball and took it out through one of the openings after the entire beach ball was covered and all of the driftwood pieces were securely bonded to one another. Genius! That is something I would never have dreamed of in a million years. My mind has been completely blown!

5. Make a Textured Roller for Clay

Are you looking for a quick and easy technique to add textured patterns to clay? One clever method is to make a roller with the texture already on it. Naturally, you won’t be able to get this supply anyplace, so you’ll have to produce it yourself.

Of course, the wonderful thing about this is that you can personalise it with whatever design you like.

You must begin with some sort of roller—anything from a PVC pipe to a real rolling pin will suffice. You will next use a sharpie to sketch a pattern onto the pin.

6. Make a No-Sew Rope Coil Basket

This project is based on the same concept as the coasters , but on a much bigger size. This is a huge bag with connected handles that may be used to transport items.

To avoid straining the adhesive, I would probably only place reasonably light things in here (like the yarn balls in the photo).

A pail is cleverly used in this project. As you lay the rope down, you use the bucket as a guide. While drying, the bucket preserves the form of your masterpiece. You proceed in the same manner as you did with the smaller rope basket previously. The completed basket is stunning!
